Strong-Lite Products is one of the Libby Legacy sites.

Vermiculite from the Zonolite mine in Libby, MT was shipped to the Strong-Lite facility in the mid-1970's. The vermiculite was exfoliated in an on-site furnace and added to commercial products. Vermiculite from the Zonolite mine in Montana is known to be contaminated with a form of amphibole asbestos.

EPA Region 6 is planning an assessment of the site in the spring of 2016. Assessment activities will include soil sampling as well as air sampling as part of Activity Based Sampling ABS).
