EPA received a NRC Report #1175538 regarding the discovery of mercury in the flooring of a private residence located in the 1300 block of West Rosedale Avenue, Chicago, Cook County, IL. According to the homeowner an antique barometer which had fallen off a wall near a floor vent released the mercury. There is a 16-month old child that lives at the residence.

EPA On Scene Coordinator (OSC), Craig Thomas, START and ERRS are responding to the mercury spill.
