The Wisco Warehouse Asbestos Site is an approximately 2.5 acre vacant commercial warehouse property in Cleveland, Ohio. Two buildings historically present on the Site were used for storage and office space. One small building was abated and demolished in September 2011. In January 2014, a Potentially Responsibly Party (PRP) demolished the remaining building (approximately 44,000 square feet) without performing an asbestos assessment or abatement. Post-demolition investigations by the Cleveland Division of Air Quality indicated that asbestos was present in the demolition debris. A portion of the site will be used for Ohio Department of Transportation's Opportunity Corridor.

On September 9, 2016, the Ohio EPA referred the Site to EPA to conduct a removal action to abate environmental and human health threats resulting from abandoned hazardous substances on the property.

On October 17, 2016, EPA and START contractors completed a Site Assessment of the property, and identified a large portion of the property with asbestos containing material (ACM) commingled with demolition debris. Thirteen orphaned drums on the property were also identified for removal.

On April 10, 2017, EPA initiated a time critical removal action at the site to secure, characterize, remove, and properly dispose of the drums, hazardous substances, and ACM currently located at the site.

150 truckloads of ACM CDD were removed from the Site, with the final truck departing on May 15, 2017.
