Guidelines for PPE Ensemble Selection
EPA has created the Guidelines for PPE Ensemble Selection to assist emergency responders in selecting PPE ensembles for specific activities and determining which ensembles and air monitoring equipment should be used to address specific chemicals. The guidelines are in draft form and will be updated as additional information becomes available.
The guidelines are intended to serve as a useful starting point for making decisions about PPE selection, but emergency responders should always make sure that the equipment they choose is appropriate for the specific activities they are performing. The guidelines consist of several tables, which address:
- Chemical exposure scenarios (non-CBRN)
