KYDEP requested EPA assistance with multiple (at least 20) open and leaking 55-gallon drums of what appears to be paint waste in Columbia, KY. Sampling of the drums indicated that the contents are flammable and contain chromium. The drums are on farm land that is directly adjacent to homes and surface water. There is no fencing or other barriers to prevent access by the neighboring kids. OSC Chuck Berry, Emergency and Rapid Removal Services Contractors and Superfund Technical Assessment and Response Team Contractors were mobilized to perform an assessment and stabilization.
