Kentucky Department of Environmental Protection (KYDEP) responded to a report of an oil spill in the Salyersville, Ky. The amount of oil spilled is unknown, but 0.25 miles of the Arnett Branch Creek is impacted. The source of the spill was identified as a flow line. KYDEP was issued a PRFA to begin cleanup operations on 1/13/15. On the afternoon of the 1/13/15 the flow line was traced back to a operational production facility. The operators have stated the flow lines are not theirs and will not conducting the cleanup. OSC Eichinger was deployed to confirm flow line ownership and ensure PRP response actions occur.
