At approximately 1430 hours on 5 JAN 07, a Norfolk Southern Railroad train derailed 4 cars in Austell, GA. One of the derailed cars contained hydrogen peroxide (35% concentration) which leaked from a vent on top, at a rate of 0.25 gallons a minute. Norfolk Southern Railroad hired a cleanup contractor to mitigate the release. OSC Russell was dispatched to the scene to oversee cleanup operations.
