On June 15, 2013, a warehouse on the west side of Indianpolis caught fire. The facility is located at 220 S. Belmont Avenue in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. The warehouse was reported to contain tires, asphalt shingles, and propane tanks. The Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD) evacuated approximately 100 homes downwind of the facility.

The Marion County Public Health Department (MCPHD) requested assistance from U.S. EPA for air monitoring support. On-Scene Coordinator (OSC) Shelly Lam responded with the Superfund Technical Assessment and Response Team (START) contractor, the Environmental Response Team (ERT), and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR).
