This Removal Action will implement the remedy selected in a Record of Decision (ROD) for the California Gulch NPL site OU9 - i.e., the Lake County Community Health Program (LCCHP). The LCCHP established a program whereby individual properties within OU9 could be evaluated and characterized to determine whether certain media had lead contaminatiion above the trigger values set out in the ROD. The 52 properties in this Removal have areas where the concentrations of lead in soil exceed the soil action levels of 3,500 parts per million. The purpose of this Removal is to permanently mitigate the exposure to residents, including children, to lead in the soil and other media.
