On the morning of August 24, 2008 fire at a vacant mill spread to he nearby fertilizer plant named Circleville Ag Products. Radiant heat caused heavy damage to the above ground tanks and popped the valves open causing release of various products. Intense fire forced evacuation of 15 homes.
