The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency engaged in a removal action at the Ellisville Site in Wildwood, Missouri during the summer of 2014. The purpose of the action was to excavate, transport and dispose of dioxin contaminated soils from the extreme northeast corner of the proposed Strecker Forest development. The area is immediately adjacent to the former Mid America Arena and a former removal action complete in 1996 at what was known as the Bliss-Ellisville site.

Removal activities began the week of March 24, 2014, and excavation was completed on July 21, 2014. Site restoration activities were completed October 31, 2014.
