A water hose was placed into a 1,100 gallons hexavalent vat some time over the weekend and left running. The vat overflowed and the contents ran about 1000 feet across the gravel facility and down a drainage ditch. The RP hired an environmental cleanup contractor (AES) to stabilized the site by using a vac truck to recover free liquid and place plastic sheeting over the spill area for protection from the rain. FOSC Spurlin and TDEC will mobilize to ensure cleanup.
