On February 2, 2012, the Dayton Fire Department and the Ohio EPA requested US EPA assistance at the abandoned Harris-Thomas Industries Site at 126 Harshman Street, Dayton, OH.

The site is a former foundry and has been abandoned since 2006. Numerous transformers have been vandalized and transformer oil has spilled on to the adjacent sidewalk. US EPA emergency response contractors stabilized the spill on February 2-3, 2012.

US EPA completed a site investigation in March, 2012.

The US EPA time critical removal action was initiated on October 23, 2012. The US EPA removal action was completed on February 11, 2013.
