NRC#: 898559

This abandon tank battery is leaking oil and oily sludge onto land and surface water of the Mississippi river. The location of this tank battery is subject to flooding and creates an ongoing substantial threat of continual discharge to the Mississippi river. The release and threat of release is caused by the improper abandonment of an oil well production facility. This owner/operator facility is unkowned at this time and there were no signs or names to identify the facility.

Presently there are five above ground storage tanks on site. They consist of two 1000 barrel bolted tanks, one 500 barrel bolted tank, and two 300 barrel welded steel tanks. The total tank capacity of this tank battery is approximately 3,100 barrels or 130,200 gallons.
