On 8/30/2005 EPA (ESF-10) received a Priority 1 (Lifesaving) Mission Assignment from FEMA to provide critical air, ground, and water transportation as directed by FEMA for Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana. This was the first ever such assignment for EPA.
