On January 27, Lacy Operating reported to the NRC (929847) a spill of 188 barrels of natural gas condensate from a temporary storage tank. The spill entered Martin Creek, a tributary of the Sabine River, approximately 7 miles north of Carthage, Panola County, TX.

The spill traveled approximately 2.1 miles downstream, but was boomed before it reached the river. Response crews are using vacuum trucks to pull product off the water.

TCEQ has approved burning of material, since much of it is inaccessible by vacuum truck.

OSC Rhotenberry and START have been dispatched to monitor the response operations.
