On October 13, 2014, Sunoco notified the NRC that Mid Valley Pipeline had a crude oil release from a 20 inch pipeline that occurred near Mooringsport, Louisiana. Sunoco has estimated the release to be approximately 4000 bbls.

EPA FOSC Rhotenberry and EPA START mobilized to the scene and determined approximately 10 miles of creek had been impacted from the release.

A Unified Command was stood up with the following agencies: EPA, Louisiana LA Oil Spill Coordinating Office & Sunoco. Supporting agencies include: Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, US Fish and Wildlife, Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries & Caddo Parish Sheriff Office
