The Site is the former Midwest Concrete Pumping located at 1005 East Beecher Street in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. The Site consists of approximately 1.1 acres, an office/maintenance building, storage building, and paved and gravel parking areas. Historical resources indicate that the Site was developed prior to 1898 as a coal storage and processing facility. The Site was then utilized as a lumber yard until the 1970's when it was developed with the current buildings.
The Marion County Public Health Department (MCPHD) referred the Site to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) because of allegations that the former owner buried drums and/or waste on the property.
In November 2011, EPA Region 5 and the Environmental Response Team (ERT) will conduct a geophysical investigation to determine if there is evidence of buried drums and/or waste.
