EPA OSC Mason received call from Texas Railroad Commission (TRRC) concerning an oil spill in Nacogdoches County, TX, from an abandoned oil well site. A tank had been apparently shot, with approximately 170 barrels of oil released into Oil Spring Creek which runs into Moss Creek, which ultimately empties into Lake Sam Rayburn, a drinking water supply.

OSCs Leos and Adams, as well as START personnel, have been dispatched to the site to coordinate with the State TRRC and TCEQ on cleanup activities.
