On 7/6/16, Plantation Pipeline notified the National Response Center of a possible gasoline release from a 12-in underground pipeline.
During right-of-way maintenance, a worker noticed a gasoline odor. Some test holes were dug by hand and gasoline vapors were evident in an approximate 4"x4" area. A small amount of product wicked an adsorbent pad placed into one of the borings.
Local, Commonwealth, and federal officials were notified and responded to the incident.
The incident is on the Goochland/Henrico County border near Tuckahoe Creek. The incident location is in Goochland County jurisdiction
