The Ravenswood PCE Site is an NPL Site located in Ravenswood, Jackson County, West Virginia. The EPA Remedial Program has been investigating and responding to the Site after selection of a remedy in 2011. Sampling in 2012 identified a probable source area of the PCE contamination to the City's public wells. Approximately 3800 persons reside in Ravenswood. The EPA Removal Program evaluated the Site conditions in 2014 and found conditions that warrant a time critical removal action in order to maintain and enhance the selected remedy and the protection of the public wells and the protection of public health in a structure near the identified source area. The source area is near a former dry cleaner. The source is an area of contaminated soil which effects the ground water migrating towards the public wells.
