The Philadelphia River Wards Pb Project is an outgrowth of EPA and ATSDR meetings with community leaders following assessment activities near the former JTLewis/Anzon lead (Pb) processing facility including a CDC/ATSDR/EPA blood Pb and environmental Pb study conducted in July 2014. Future activities will be centered in the River Wards section of Philadelphia, an area with a long legacy of industrial facilities located side-by-side with "row home" residences. Beginning in Spring 2016, in close coordination with community leaders, activities will involve convenience blood Pb screening, "soil shop" XRF soil screening events, health educational efforts to reduce Pb exposure, urban gardening research, and possibly individual sampling efforts at selected residential or public properties (Note that larger scale site-specific assessments associated with former industrial or commercial properties may be assigned a separate site ID and website.)
