The Scorpio Recycling Inc site is listed on the National Priorities List (NPL) and the Remedial Investigation is ongoing. Based on the findings in the Remedial Investigation and the Baseline Human Health Risk Assessment (BHHRA) for Operable Unit No. 1, EPA has determined that the groundwater does not pose an unacceptable risk to public health or the environment. As such, a No Action Record of Decision was issued in September 2006. EPA continues to investigate potential buried waste and contaminated soil as part of Operable Unit No. 2.

The Removal Program has previously conducted two removal actions at the site. One for metals-in-soils (POLREPS 1 - 6) in 2002 thru 2004 and a drum removal (POLREP 1 and FINAL) in 2009.

The Response and Prevention Branch started providing technical assistance on July 12, 2010 to eliminate the above ground piles of Lead contaminated soil to clear the area for the remedial subsurface investigation. This information will be captured beginning with SITREP 7.
