In December, 2016, the Ohio EPA requested EPA assistance at the Shelby County Drum Site in Sidney, Ohio. Historical records indicate the Site was used for subsurface burial of solvent drums adjacent to the Great Miami River. In December 2016, EPA initiated a removal action site investigation at the Site.
In November, 2016, the Ohio EPA completed installation and sampling of groundwater monitoring wells at the Site.
On December 12, 2016, EPA completed a geophysical survey to identify the suspected drum area at the Site.
On January 19, 2017, EPA installed a groundwater monitoring well at the Site.
EPA conducted test trenching at the Site on February 28, 2017 as part of a removal Site Investigation.
