EPA to hold informational session on ASARCO cleanup

CHICAGO (Nov. 8, 2007) - U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 5 will hold an open-house-style meeting Tuesday, Nov. 13 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Taylor Springs Community Center, 613 E. Main St., Taylor Springs, Ill., to inform the public about cleanup work at the American Smelting and Refining Co.
Representatives from EPA, Illinois EPA, Illinois Department of Public Health and companies responsible for the cleanup will discuss sampling and cleanup of lead contamination in residential yards.
An official document file has been set up at the Taylor Springs village hall, 626 E. Main St.
