Current Activities
***Thursday, 3/17/05:  ODEQ contractors worked to remove oil from the slow-water area.  This work was completed by the end of day.

***Friday, 3/18/05:  ODEQ contractors conducted physical removal of the majority of free product on the upper reach of the creek using water flushing and vac-truck removal of oil.  ODEQ contractors removed grossly contaminated vegetation and set up a passive collection system of containment boom along with sorbent boom and pads.  To date approximately 8,700 gallons of oily water (of which 300 gallons were free product and mousse) and 17 cubic yards of oily debris were removed. Preliminary analytical results indicated the product consisted of 3 parts lube oil and 1 part diesel.  Chlorinated solvents were non detect.  Awaiting PCB and metals analysis.  The State continues investigation of the source.  Estimated release volume now at 200 gallons.

***Saturday, 3/19/05 ODEQ contractors on site twice to monitor booms and pads.

***Sunday, 3/20/05 ODEQ contractors on site once to monitor booms and pads.

Planned Removal Actions
Plan to remove containment boom and sorbents from the upper portion of the creek on Monday, 3/21/05, along with sheen and mousse that have collected in these locations. Continue passive collection using absorbents and booms at the start of the slow water area downstream.

Next Steps
Passive collection of latent sheen/product. Investigation of potential sources of the oil.

Key Issues
Besides the three injured ducks, there appears to be no more wildlife impacted by the spill.
