Located on the west side of Atlanta, GA along the main thouroughfare that cuts trough a large industrial park. The accident site is also near the south boundary of Brown Field (Fulton Co. Airport): A tanker trailer hauling Jet-A(Mil JP-4)experienced brake failure and overturned while negotiating a northbound turn onto Fulton Ind. Blvd. at the bottom of the off-ramp of I-20W. The tanker released an estimated at 7,500 gallons to the street surface, side culverts, and nearby storm drain(s). The Chattahoochee River is the nearest surface water and is located approximately one-half mile due west of the accident scene. The accident occured at approximately 0530hrs. on 31JUL2006.
1-) East and Westbound Interstate 20 was closed from the time of the initial response until about 10:30 a.m. on 31JUL2006. North/Southbound traffic on Fulton Industrial Blvd. will remain detoured in the vicinity of the accident until response activities are concluded. 2-) Recovery of product from storm-drain network.
RP contractors and other supporting response teams will continue to attempt to recover product and maintain a safe response environment.

Accessing the network of storm-drains to recover product and mittigating fire/explosion risk.
