Please review the Profile and Pollution Report #1 for a detailed Site Description.
Drums are being staged and waste streams identified. Solid waste generated while working and a small amount from the facility are being removed. Analytical data has tentatively identified the waste stream for proper disposal.
Due to the deteriorated condition of the building, it may be necessary to remove some solid waste to access the drums and containers. Drums and other containers will be staged inside the building to facilitate sampling activities. Drum contents will be sampled and segregated; if determined to be hazardous, the material will be sent off-site for disposal. Some of the drum and container contents ultimately determined to be non-hazardous may have to be disposed to enable continued access inside the building. It may be more cost-effective to remove the solid waste from the building for disposal than it is to place it back inside the building. In this event, such solid waste will either be recycled or taken to a municipal landfill. County and local authorities will also be contacted regarding the possibility of having the waste removed and disposed by their crews.
Analytical results were received and waste streams have been tentatively identified. A site visit with the ERRS Contractor is needed to identify the types of equipment to be used for disposal of waste and crushing/disposal of drums. All on-site waste has been staged and liquid paint has been bulked for disposal.
Products used in the manufacturing of fiberglass are present on-site, some containers are unopened. Distributors of the products have been identified and contacted regarding the possible use by another fiberglass manufacturing company. These products have been staged pending the response.
