August 25 through 31, 2003: ERRS subcontractor (1) ERRS subcontractor conducted operations and maintenance activities, including cleaning the fuel extraction pumps on 8/27/2003. A total of 10 to 14 gallons of material recovered in the 1,000 gallon tank. September 1 through 6, 2003: ERRS Subcontractor (1) ERRS Subcontractor conducted operations and maintenance activities, including cleaning the fuel extraction pumps on 9/1/2003. A total of 29 gallons of material recovered in the 1,000 gallon tank.
September 7 through 13, 2003: ERRS Subcontractor (1) ERRS Subcontractor conducted operations and maintenance activities. On 9/8/2003 product was visible in MW-15 tubing as it entered the 1,000 gallon tank. A total of 34 gallons of material recovered in the 1,000 gallon tank. September 14 through 20, 2003: ERRS Subcontractor (1) ERRS Subcontractor conducted operations and maintenance activities. On 9/16/2003 the Patroleum Storage Tank Fund's contractor collected product and groundwater samples at the site. A total of 40 to 41 gallons of material recovered in the 1,000 gallon tank.
September 21 through 30, 2003: ERRS Subcontractor (1) ERRS Subcontractor conducted operations and maintenance activities. On 9/22/2003 the pump on MW-9 was spooled out and the pump was sitting on the bottom of the well. The product sensor was bad and a replacement was sent to the site. Sensor was missing a rubber washer between spring & pump. A total of 44 gallons of material recovered in the 1,000 gallon tank.
-Operate system for 6 month period and re-evaluate.
-Transportation and Disposal of recovered product as needed. -EPA will re-evaluate the need to operate the system after 6-months.
On Monday September 22, 2003 MW-9's pump failed due to a missing rubber washer between the spring and pump mechanism.
