Time-Critical - Removal Action Pollution Report (POLREP) #11
Site Description
The Site is a former orchard area that has had residential development.  Prior to an EPA ban in 1972, a variety of pesticides including lead-arsenates and DDT compounds were applied.

EPA conducted a removal action at one property at the Crozet Arsenic Site in Crozet, Virginia.  Historical sampling indicated that additional properties may need removal work.


Current Activities
Throughout the week, EPA coordinated with the residents to ensure a successful project.

ERRS finishes backfill activities on Orchard Acres property OA-176

ERRS began sodding activities on Orchard Acres property OA-176

6/12/07

ERRS finished excavating and sodding activities at OA-176 and OA-203.

EPA/START/ERRS discussed logistics for excavating OA-040

6/13/07

ERRS began and completed hand excavating OA-040.    

ERRS laid and graded rock in the parking area at OA-176

ERRS begins excavation activities at OA-038

ERRS began and completed backfill and sodding activities at OA-040

ERRS continued excavation activities at OA-038

ERRS policed the Highlander Way property for trash, extra materials, etc.

ERRS began backfilling activities on Orchard Acres property OA-038

ERRS re-seeded portions of Highlander Way property that were disturbed during site activities.


Next Steps
EPA will continue to meet with residents.

EPA will continue to schedule removal actions at the Orchard Acres subdivision.

EPA will address the recent requests from residents to have their property sampled.
