Time-Critical - Removal Action Pollution Report (POLREP) #20
Start Date: 5/30/2006
Pollution Report (POLREP) #20
Site Description
Current Site activities are focusing on transportation and disposal of creosote-contaminated soils.

Current Activities
ERRS continued loadout of creosote-contaminated soils.  Soil is being loaded into 30 cubic yard rolloff containers which are then being transported by trailer to the local CSX railyard.  The containers will then be transported to Utah for final disposal.

Each rolloff contains approximately 20 tons.  The exact weights will not be known until the material is received at the disposal facility.

On this date, 11 rolloffs were transported offsite for a total of approximately 220 tons.

To date, 13 rolloffs have been transported offsite for an estimated total of 260 tons

Planned Removal Actions
Transportation and disposal will continue until the current subcontract has been expended.  At that time, ERRS will begin work under a new task order.

At the completion of the current subcontract, the OSC will evaluate the amount of material remaining which requires disposal and the approximate funding remaining.

Next Steps
Transportation and disposal issues will continue throughout this week.

Key Issues
1. Note that the pending costs for transportation and disposal has been allocated to the current ERRS costs.  This additional pending costs accounts for the significant increase in costs over the previous polrep.

2.  OSC has raised the START ceiling from $100,000 to $174,000.    The total ceiling allowed in the Action Memo is $267,000
