Time-Critical - Removal Action Pollution Report (POLREP) #13
Site Description
The Site is a former orchard area that has had residential development.  Prior to an EPA ban in 1972, a variety of pesticides including lead-arsenates and DDT compounds were applied.

EPA conducted a removal action at one property at the Crozet Arsenic Site in Crozet, Virginia.  Historical sampling indicated that additional properties may need removal work.

ERRS continued backfilling activities on Orchard Acres property OA-196

ERRS began sodding activities on OA-196

START prepared and analyzed two XRF samples (OA-161-BY and OA-202-FY) collected on 6/21/07.  The original samples were analyzed in situ (bagged) and came back above 48 ppm for As.

ERRS continued to water all properties where sod was laid after excavating

START collected two 5-point composite samples from OA-208 (front yard and back yard) and analyzed them via in situ (bagged) XRF

START collected five discreet grab samples from the backyard of property OA-161 to be sent for lab analysis.

ERRS decontaminated the excavator and power-washed the road in front of the two properties where removals occurred on Alberta Drive.
