Site Description
At approximately 1430 hours on 5 JAN 07, a Norfolk Southern Railroad train derailed 4 cars in Austell, GA.  One of the derailed cars contained hydrogen peroxide (35% concentration) which leaked from a vent on top, at a rate of 0.25 gallons a minute.  Norfolk Southern Railroad hired a cleanup contractor to mitigate the release. OSC Russell was dispatched to the scene to oversee cleanup operations.


Current Activities
Hepaco, Inc, was hired by Norfolk Southern Railroad to contain and mitigate the release.  The contaimnent and mitigation of the release was completed on 01/05/07.
