Current Activities
From August 21-24, 2007, a total of 69 vinyl sheetpile panels were installed at varying depths of approximately 10-13 feet.

On August 24, 2007, a concrete pad in the path of the sheetpile barrier was discovered.   Approximately 52 feet of concrete with varying thickness was crushed and removed to complete the sheetpiling in this area.

On August 27, 2007, while awaiting delivery of equipment to crush and remove concrete, sheetpile panels were installed up to the concrete pad.  To date, a grand total of 82 panels have been driven.

From August 28-29, 2007, the 52' of concrete was crushed and removed from the trench along the M-26 fenceline.  All material excavated from the trench was stockpiled inside the property fence.

On August 29, 2007, installation of the sheetpile barrier continued.  The section of the barrier along M-26 was completed.

Planned Removal Actions
Excavate approximately 340 feet of ditch along Franklin Street adjacent to the property on the south.  Restore ditch to ensure proper flow.

Install sheetpiling around the perimeter of the site.  Sheetpile installation will begin on the NW corner of the property and follow the fencline south along M-26 to Franklin Street and east along Franklin Street to the NE corner of the property.  Ends of sheetpile barrier will be inverted to capture the migration of impacted material.  In addition, several wells will be installed to monitor potential movement of contamination.

Next Steps
Continue sheetpile barrier east along the ditchline on Franklin Street.

Excavation and restoration of the remaining 220 feet of ditch from second gate east along Franklin Street.

Installation of 11 monitoring wells on-site.
