Pollution Report (POLREP) #2
Site Description
The site is located in Dearborn, Wayne County, Michigan.  The impacted area begins about ¼ mile north of the Severstal North American Inc. (Former Rouge Steel) Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) outfall on the west side of Schaefer Road and continues south down the Rouge River.

Current Activities
On June 25, 2004, the laboratory results from the United States Coast Guard Marine Safety Laboratory were completed.  The results show that the material collected contained traces of petroleum compounds, but the sample consisted primarily of non-petroleum contamination.  It noted that the petroleum oil was not sufficient for identification purposes.
