Buckeye Pipeline Leak

On 9/2/2015, Buckeye Pipeline reported a leak from a buried pipeline into the subsurface at 40 Albany St in Springfield, MA.

The pipeline section was drained & isolated and the operator mobilize dcontractors to the site & commenced investigation and cleanup actions.

MassDEP responded and EPA deployed an OSC from a nearby removal site to asssess site conditions. The site is approximately 1 mile from the Connecticut River. The OSC determined there was no release to waters of the United States at this time. More information is in the POLREP.
