On October 28, the NRC contacted the USEPA and informed them of an oil spill near Sour Lake, TX. OSC Paige Delgado was dispatched to the scene to determine size and scope of the incident. NRC Report #1131943 stated that the incident was discovered in an unnamed ditch on October 28 at 1324 local incident time, from a 4 inch pipeline for unknown reasons. Sunoco, the pipeline operator, hired a clean up contractor and began deploying booms for containment and recovery. Most recent estimates from Sunoco state that less than the original 150 barrels reported were released.
