A fire erupted near the right wing of a Boeing 767 upon take-off at O'Hare Airport on October 28, 2016 at approximately 1430hrs. The passengers were evacuated safely and the fire was extinguished by airport fire crews. Jet fuel was released from both the right and left wing as a result of the incident.
EPA contacted responders to offer assistance, which was requested by the Chicago Fire Department at 2100hrs. An EPA On Scene Coordinator responded to assist in the response.
