The Arvada Treatment Center was a Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment (CDPHE) RCRA permitted TSDF that provided commercial wastewater treatment services. Generally, the facility received wastewaters bearing mostly non-chlorinated, organic wastes and treated them via flocculation, sedimentation, followed by carbon filtration. The treated effluent was discharged to a nearby POTW. The facility went out of business and was undergoing a RCRA Closure under the direction of CDPHE. However, prior to the completion of the closure action the facility ran short of money and stopped work.
