On September 28th, 2017, US EPA was requested to assist with a mercury spill from the basement of a house in Middletown, Ohio. At the time of the spill, the mercury had been inefficiently remediated and spread outside the house to the environment in an unrestricted manner.

US EPA has responded to conduct a cleanup and prevent further migration or impact to residents immediately adjacent to the spill.
