Region II has constructed a venue of a mock-up of a clandestine chemical lab/chemical storage area. This venue is designed for Level "B" haz-mat entry practice and Emergency Response scenario exercises. It is used by Region II for annual Level 'B" training, radiation response exercises, and was used extensively in 2012 for Ebola emergency response training with EPA, RST, and EPA ERRS contractor personnel. During the week of June 25, 2018 Region II will be hosting a Level "B" Haz-mat entry exercise and also a radiation incident response exercise. The overall area consists of a medical monitoring station for BP and temperature checks, an equipment pick up area, a dress-out area, the 'Hot Zone', Decon line, and post-egress medical monitoring.
This venue is available for use by any EPA region and it can be modified for various chemical, biological, WMD, and radioactive emergency response scenarios using Level "D" thru Level "A" PPE.
