On June 12, 2018, Washington Department of Ecology Compliance Department requested EPA's assistance with a report from neighbors in the area of N21st St. and Cheyenne Street in the Ruston area of Tacoma. Contractors were seen leaving lead-containing paint chips on the ground where they were working. The neighbor saw the crew cutting up an electrical transmission tower on a tarp but when the tarp was picked up, paint chips fell through holes in the contractor's tarp.
