On the evening of 06 August 2018, a dump truck, pulling a trailer with an asphalt paver, steam roller, and a bobcat crashed through a guardrail, tumbled down a steep embankment, and came to rest in an unnamed creek (Brady Gulch) along HWY SH-99 MP: 1-1 in Latah County, ID. The dump truck had approximately 100 gallons of diesel in its saddle tanks that has been actively releasing into the creek bed. Brady Gulch is a tributary to the Potlach River which is a significant steelhead run and used as a public drinking water source. An unknown amount of fuel and oil has entered the waterway. The driver was killed in the accident. The uninsured, unlicensed owner is unavailable/unable to conduct the clean-up.

On 10 August 2018, IDEQ requested EPA assistance with the situation. OSC Vanderboom and ERRS contractors arrived on scene the next day to begin clean-up efforts.
