On June 24, a release of liquid chloropicrin occurred in a mixed commercial and residential building located at 45 Water Street, in Torrington, CT. The chloropicrin had been contained in vials, that had been incorporated int a safe as a security measure. The safe was being moved when the vials were accidentally broken, releasing the cholopicrin in side one of the commercial properties. No injuries were reported.
