On Thursday, January 16, 2020, at 16:00 pm MST, the EPA Emergency Response Section received a request for assistance from the Utah Department of Environmental Quality (UDEQ) to address a release of a small amount of mercury (2-4 grams) spilled inside a residence located at 933 Coyote Circle, North Salt Lake, UT 84054.

On the evening of Tuesday, January 14, 2020, an owner dropped a mercury-in-glass thermometer on the wood floor. She was able to collect the larger glass fragments and large mercury beads in a trash bag and vaccumed the remainder(s) with a home-use vaccum cleaner.
