EPA was notified of this spill by ODEQ, who responded to a report of a fish kill (Chinook Salmon) from an oil spill (red dye diesel and/or home heating oil) to a tributary of Wallowa River in Wallowa County. EPA coordinated with ODEQ, initiating a funding agreement for ODEQ to investigate the source of the spill and conduct cleanup operations. The source is apparently a residential home heating oil tank.
