On Tuesday, May 21st, the Phone Duty OSC received
a request from the Denver Police Department Bomb Squad for EPA Removal support
to dispose of confiscated fireworks being held at the Denver Vehicle Impound
Facility. The Response Duty OSC is using their warrant
authority and experience to provide mentoring and a training opportunity for
new OSCs to exercise their removal
process skills. OSCs met with DPD on Thursday, May 23rd to scope out the ER and get an estimate of the volume of the product. The ER removal action is planned for Thursday, May 30th and will
consist of transferring custody of the viable fireworks to a vendor from
Wyoming and potential disposal of the remainder.
