The 0.24 acre site, owned by the Town of Otis, is occupied by three interconnected buildings all constructed in 1920.  The southernmost building, a dilapidated two-story former hotel, has been vacant since 1984.   The hotel building is in severe disrepair with significant portions of the roof, first floor, and second floor collapsed into the basement. Sampling showed building materials contain asbestos.  Asbestos fibers pose a threat of release to the environment from the partially-collapsed structure.

EPA is planning demolition, removal, and backfill of the site to begin the week of April 21, 2025.
