The Lithium-Ion Battery Task Force is comprised of Federal On-Scene Coordinators, subject matter experts and EPA contractors with extensive knowledge and experience in lithium-ion battery (LIB) responses.
The focus of the Hazard Awareness Training and Discussions will be on the fundamentals of LIBs and their applications in personal electronics, micro-mobility devices, Electric Vehicles (EVs) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). It will provide attendees the opportunity to learn and engage with members of the hazardous materials and emergency management communities. The courses will cover battery basics, de-energization, air monitoring, site cleanup, transport and disposal as well as case studies of prior incidents.
