On May 6th and 7th 2025, the EPA was notified by the National Response Center of an oil discharge from a 16-inch transmission line in Arlington, Tarrant County, Texas. According to the NRC report, the discharge occurred for unknown reasons at the time that resulted in a discharge of an estimated 2600 bbls of crude oil.

On May 7, 2025, EPA  staff was activated to respond to the incident location to assess the spill size and determine the potential threat to navigable waters of the U.S. The spill location is located within the Inland Zone and falls within the EPA Area of Responsibility; therefore, EPA is the lead agency.
